What the Bananas in Our Garden Taught Me About Growth

The bananas growing in our garden have been changing a little more each day.

When you see a plant every day, it's surprisingly difficult to notice how much it has grown.

But the other day, I looked up and realized something. Just a week ago, the bunch had only three layers of bananas. Now, a fourth layer had quietly appeared.

I couldn't help but wonder,

"When did it grow this much?"

Sitting there, watching the bananas, I realized that people grow in much the same way.

The things we study.
The work we do every day.
The new habits we try to build.
The small goals we continue to pursue.

When we look at ourselves day after day, it often feels as though nothing has really changed.

Yet, little by little, those quiet efforts accumulate. Then one day, we look back and realize just how far we've come.

Just as the banana tree patiently grows its fruit, perhaps we, too, are growing in ways we don't always notice.

It was a simple reminder I found while sitting in the garden, watching the bananas sway in the breeze.
