South Pacific Coffee Company Fiji: Inside the Roastery & Cafe in Nadi

Inside South Pacific Coffee Company: Craft, Community, and the Art of Roasting

Located in Nadi, Fiji,
South Pacific Coffee Company is more than just a coffee brand— it’s a place where you can truly experience how a single cup comes to life.

During our visit, we were guided through the roasting facility by Sheenal Pillay, whose calm and thoughtful explanations revealed a deep understanding of the craft behind every batch.

The Invisible Precision Behind Every Roast

At the heart of the facility stands a large roasting machine— impossible to miss, and clearly the core of the operation.

This is where roasting specialist Vimal Parasd carefully transforms green beans into aromatic coffee.

Roasting is far from a simple process.Temperature control is critical, but so are environmental factors like humidity and air temperature—each subtly influencing the final flavor.

Every batch requires constant observation and fine adjustments. It’s a delicate, almost invisible form of control that ultimately defines the quality in your cup.

A Cafe Where You Can Taste It Fresh

Attached to the roastery is a cozy café where you can enjoy freshly roasted coffee on the spot.

Beyond coffee, the menu includes a variety of sandwiches and cakes— all thoughtfully prepared and surprisingly high in quality.

The space itself feels warm and welcoming, with a relaxed, homey atmosphere that invites you to slow down and stay a while.

Three Coffee Lines, Rooted in Local Connection

South Pacific Coffee Company offers three main types of coffee:

  • 100% Fijian-grown beans

  • Fiji × Papua New Guinea (PNG) blend

  • Original blends using imported beans

Among these, the Fijian-grown coffee stands out.
The beans are sourced directly from local farmers— not just as a supply chain, but as a way to support and sustain local communities.

Each bean is carefully cultivated, then brought here to be roasted and transformed into a finished cup. Behind every sip is a story of people, place, and connection— a reflection of Fiji itself.

A Cup That Tastes Like Fiji

We also took some Fijian coffee beans home to experience them firsthand.

As hot water touched the grounds, a rich aroma filled the air— soft, warm, and distinctly tropical.

On the palate, the coffee is smooth with low acidity, layered with a gentle sweetness reminiscent of chocolate.

It’s approachable, comforting, and easy to keep reaching for another sip.
In many ways, it feels like the essence of Fiji— sun, air, and time—captured in a single cup.

Edito’s Reflection

South Pacific Coffee Company is one of those places you find yourself coming back to.

The cafe has a warm, homey atmosphere, and the staff are genuinely friendly— the kind of place that instantly makes you feel comfortable.

It’s not just about the coffee. The food, from sandwiches to cakes, is just as enjoyable and thoughtfully made.

On this visit, we picked up their Fijian Tropical Blend to enjoy at home.
The aroma was rich and inviting, with a smooth, chocolate-like sweetness that made every cup feel special.

If you’re in the Nadi area, it’s definitely worth stopping by— and don’t leave without taking some beans home with you.
